Congressional Black Caucus of the 110th Congress

CBC Movement: Two Weeks in Review

March 31, 2008

Welcome

Chairwoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (MI)

I bring you greetings on behalf of the Congressional Black Caucus of the 110th Congress. During this session of Congress, the CBC has celebrated a host of milestones and mourned the loss of two dedicated Members. It is my pleasure to announce the newest member of the U.S. House of Representatives and of the CBC, Congressman Andre Carson, representing the 7th District of Indiana. Congressman Carson is proudly following in the footsteps of his late grandmother, Congresswoman Julia Carson.

As Chair of the CBC, I am most proud of our ongoing efforts to build a stronger and healthier America. I invite you and Members of your organization to visit our website and view our 2007 Year End Report. As we continue to change course, confront crises, and continue our legacy, we need your assistance. Please get involved and stay connected.
