February 13, 2008

Welcome

Chairwoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (MI)

Greetings and Happy New Year! During the remaining 322 days of the 110th Session of Congress, Members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) will continue the work of the people to build stronger and healthier American families. In the preceding pages of this first CBC Movement Newsletter of 2008, you will find a composite of the Democratic our efforts to advance our agenda. I invite you and Members of your organization to visit our website, submit a blog entry and get involved.

In observance of Black History Month, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) has unveiled their Avoice Virtual Library, which includes short biographies of the 22 African American Members of Congress serving during the 19th century. To learn of their lives and accomplishments, visit Avoice at www.avoiceonline.org.
